The "Gone West" ceremony is a poignant tradition within the aviation community, honoring members who have passed away. At the National Stearman Fly-In (NSFI), this ceremony holds a special place, serving as a moment to remember and celebrate the lives of those who contributed to the Stearman community. The 2021 NSFI incorporated a video presentation during the "Gone West" ceremony, offering a visual tribute to the departed members.
As the art director for this project, I utilized Adobe After Effects to craft a heartfelt and visually engaging video presentation. My responsibilities included designing the overall visual concept, selecting appropriate imagery and music, and creating smooth transitions to evoke the desired emotional response. By integrating these elements cohesively, I aimed to provide a meaningful tribute that resonated with attendees, ensuring the memories of those honored were celebrated with the respect and admiration they deserved.
